10/11/17 Visit with the Wests

Fawn at dawn.

The boys were not afraid of a little dirt.

A little more progress at the storage unit.

Violet West with the kids.

Charity and James took time out of their busy lives to hang out with us. They are so cool.

In the red you see young Ezra West hanging out with Joseph, Peter and TJ.

10/10/17 Charlotte at the Storage and James Band Concert

I loved the label on this box.

Making slow progress on the storage unit.

Sarah having fun with Charlotte.

Jenny and Sam were big helpers.

Fun Joseph moment.

James was a part of the stage crew for his high school marching band.

10/9/17 Hard Choices

This is what the storage unit looked like at the beginning of the day. Believe it or not this storage unit was once full from floor to ceiling from back to front. That was right after the shipping crate with the combined belongings of Gram and Papa and Jon and Cathy were in here. Now, after two inheritance parties, the hard choices about what goes to Arizona and what stays must be made.

When I arrived at the storage unit this morning my wedding ring was missing. In cold, dry weather my fingers shrink. I looked around but had no idea where it might have fallen off. At the end of the day, when Papa hooked the motor home back up, he found my ring inside his glove. It must've come off when I helped him unhook in the morning. What a great blessing to, once again, have my ring restored to me.

On our way back to the McWiggin's house we spotted these deer grazing near the house. Karen tells people that for a pet she keeps 9 deer. It was fun seeing them from time to time as we came and went.

10/8/17 Family Reunion Dinner

I apologize that this is so badly out of focus, my camera seems to be struggling. Also this was the only wide shot I got of the Sunday evening get together we had at Amanda's house. She provided the pulled pork and the rest of the family brought the sides. We had quite a few members of Jon and Cathy's family. It was the first time in a while I've gotten to visit with Kevin. Kelly and family were all present. Michael brought his friend Abby. The younger kids all had fun running around together. Amanda gave the tour of her new abode.

This is the one clear focused picture that I got. Heidi is jealous of this neat place for kids to stow their backpacks.
All too soon it was time to say goodnight and head back to Mapleton for the night.

10/7/17 Inheritance Party, The Sequel

First thing this morning we realized that the key to the storage unit was safely back in AZ. Not to be thwarted in our goal of having an Inheritance Party Papa and I set out to find bolt cutters. Heidi got on the phone and found out that Home Depot had some. Once there Papa spotted a Tool Rental sign.

For 8 bucks were able to get past our lock just in time for the cousin's arrival. Amanda and Eric with Emma, Lilly, Carson and Macy as well as Cathy, Ben, Nate and Aaron were there. Kelly was there with Melissa, Chris and James. Rycharn came down later with Stephanie. Kimmie and family were excused as she just had baby Tanner. Jenny and Sam had Charlotte with hand foot and mouth.

Peter, TJ and David taking a rest break.

We found my certificate of Primary graduation.

In the evening the kids played on the playground.

The fall colors here are beautiful.

10/6/17 Arrival in Utah

This morning we left before sunrise for the final leg of our journey. It would be a long drive.

Meanwhile, Heidi, David, Rebecca, Sarah and Joseph departed from home. Their goal was to make the entire journey in one day.

Becca B found this rock and wanted a picture with it.

Here is the welcome to Utah sign.

Sarah was a huge helper making sandwiches. Sadly Rebecca had a fever and was just starting antibiotics. Sarah and David were big helpers keeping Peter entertained. They made the journey in about 11 hours which is a family best.

The Bigfoot crew spent around 10 hours on the road. We were glad to finally arrive and be able to rest.

Joseph like the baby deer statue.

TJ reported that the slide dropped you like a rock. I guess the angle is a little too steep. It was great to be back all together. Heidi and the kids and I are staying at our friends the McWiggin's home.

10/5/17 Bigfoot Hits the Road Again

This morning, after the older kids went to school, Gram, Papa, Becca B, TJ, Joseph and me (Ganon) hit the road. The goal is to head to Utah and retrieve Gram's treasures from the storage unit.

We stayed the first night at a place called Willow Beach.

The place is lovely but there is no cel reception.

Joseph found a rock that he liked.

TJ and Joseph and I enjoyed exploring around camp.
