Mapleton Fireman's Breakfast

Utah County has this cool thing called the Utah Freedom Band.  Ganon started playing with them before we were married.  This volunteer group plays at random places around the county.  During May every year they perform in Mapleton at the Fireman's Breakfast.  Now that we are back in Provo Ganon was excited to rejoin the group.  We all went to the fire station and ate breakfast.  Then the kids and I played around the fire engines while Ganon performed.  David had fun ringing the bell.  It was a fun morning.

Sleepyheads

So, I'm not sure how children can sleep in such awkward positions, but they do.  Our little ones have been doing it a lot lately.  These are just a few pics I took this week.

It was getting close to bedtime and I found David in his room reading Curious George to himself. I wish the kids would do that more often.

Riding in Style

So, now that we live in Provo, the neighborhood is flat enough to make it possible to ride our bikes.  David has been practicing with his Big Bike (and new training wheels--Thanks Grandpa!).  He is doing great.  With the addition of little Sarah, we didn't have a way to get all of us around on bikes, so we started looking for a bike trailer.  I found one yesterday on KSL Classifieds for $35.  That was in our price range, so we went to look at it.  The trailer has been loved, but will be great with only a little TLC.  We brought it home (it collapses to fit in our trunk) and Ganon hitched it up to his bike.  We went for a spin, and the kids loved it.  David and Rebecca sat in the trailer while I rode with Sarah in the front-carrier.  It was a fun little outing.  I look forward to doing it again soon.  By the way, the trailer also works as a double jogging stroller-- I am so excited!!

We're Movin' On

Well, I thought I'd give a brief update on our lives at the moment.  As you all know, Sarah was born on April 10th.  Two weeks later (after several trips to Provo, a lot of phone calls, and constant prayer) we finally found a place to stay for the summer.  We moved two days later.  We now live in Provo in a 3 bedroom apartment right by BYU.  The building usually rents only to single people during the school year, so we can only stay for four months.  We are hoping to buy a house between now and then.  Our apartment came fully furnished, so most of our stuff is in storage.  Luckily, our storage unit is across the street from Ganon's new job.  This allows us to easily take stuff back and forth as our needs change over the next few months.
We have definitely been blessed by our Heavenly Father during the past few weeks.  We are all healthy and happy, we have a comfortable place to live, and we have the best extended family anyone could ask for.  I would like to thank all of those who have helped us with our crazy lives.  We couldn't have made it through this time without you.  Thank you for all of your love and support.

Welcome Sarah Mei

Sarah Mei was born early this morning at 2:28.  She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 21 inches long.  She is a precious little one we are excited to have in our family.
For those who want to know, Sarah's middle name is the Hawaiian form of Mae, the middle name of two of Sarah's great-grandmothers.

Is it Spring Yet?

One of David's favorite questions right now is "Mommy, is it Spring?"  We explained months ago that the baby in Mommy's tummy will come when it is Spring.  Spring, for our definition, is when all of the snow is gone and we can play outside regularly without coats.  The tricky thing is that we've had a few of these days during the past month, so David is learning about patience.  Mommy is learning about patience, too.  Anyhow, here are a few pictures of the kiddos on Easter and our very first Spring Blossom.  Hopefully, Our Spring will come soon.

Got a Job...

Just under two years ago Heidi and I felt impressed that I needed to go back to school. We decided that even though it represented a huge change in direction for us, I needed to study accounting. This was not an easy decision. Working in TV and film has been a dream of mine since I was a boy. Still, as a man I felt that my family was where my happiness lay. We began school and have worked hard learning new skills.
About one month ago a friend of mine sent me an email about a brand new position at BYU's public television station KBYU. The job called for someone with a few years of TV production experience who also new how to use the company's fancy accounting program to make budget's and keep track of costs. An accountant with TV production skills? I can't imagine that there are too many of us out there. Although this once again represented a paradigm shift for us we prayed about it and felt that the job was made for us.
To abbreviate an otherwise lengthy story, we applied and we got the job! Hooray! Now I will finish the semester at Weber, start my new job, find a place to live in Provo and get ready for Heidi to have our third child some time mid-April. These are some of the many adventures that lie at our doorstep.
We feel that Heavenly Father has been watching over our little family and has taken great care of us. Thanks to those of you who said quiet prayers for us that we might be able to get this new job. This is going to be fun.
