2/4/18 Home Teaching and Self Reliance

This morning we attended our usual church meetings. They help bring a Spirit into our lives that carries with us the whole week long. Shortly thereafter Papa and I went to home teach the LeSueur family. We also visited a new family on our route, the Gechter family (pronounced geck-ter). Sister Gechter has a seven-year-old daughter named Hannah who has down-syndrome. We rescheduled with the Ruddell family as they were feeling under the weather.
This afternoon we also enjoyed a visit from our home teachers, Brother Lewis and Brother Postert.

Yesterday Heidi tested Gram's pool chair and it did not seem to want to run. Heidi felt that it needed to charge some more.

Today Rebecca helped me test it and it worked just fine. It seems that we need to create some kind of routine to use the battery during the Winter to keep it alive until Summer.

Also this evening Heidi and I had our second Self Reliance class. Two of our group members were absent because they were in the process of moving to Arizona from California so it was a little harrder to get as much participation. It was still good though. We talked about the importance of couples working together if they want to learn to manage a budget.
The above photo shows Rebecca's completed Science Fair board. She has pored many, many, many hours into this project. She, and we, are grateful that she is nearing the finish line on this one.

  1. Kudos to Rebecca for completing a difficult science project. Thanks for servicing Gram's important pool chair. Home teaching brings blessings to the teachers and those taught.
