3/3/18 District Science Fair Awards Ceremony

This morning Heidi took this picture of David for his Eagle Scout application. For many boys, the Eagle paperwork is one of the hardest parts. He is getting close and we are proud of his persistence.

This morning I went over to the Inter-Stake Center and help set up for two stake conferences tomorrow. The Lehi Stake treated us to lunch at their annual Lehi Days Rodeo event. Heidi and I took the opportunity to go as a date.

After lunch, we went to the District Science Fair awards ceremony. They tipped us that Rebecca had received an award but did not tell us what it was.

They first read the names of those who received an Honorable Mention. Rebecca was not in that group. Then they read the names of all the Third place winners. They included elementary, middle and high school winners. Rebecca was not in this group either. Rebecca turned and told me that she was beginning to get impatient.

Finally, they read Rebecca's name as one of the Second place winners.

She was pleased to win the highest award that does not require her to present again at the State Science Fair. We are proud of her for working so hard to be prepared and for putting in the thought required to do a good job.

This evening Gram and I got to spend a little time playing piano together. What a fun treat.

  1. Both Rebecca and David are worthy of much praise for their achievements. Parents too deserve kudos for giving positive support. Playing the piano w her son gives Gram mucho happiness 😊
