7/2/16 Five Mile Hike

This morning David and I met at the Phelps' home at 5 am. The goal was to sign off David's last 2nd Class scout requirement and do it before it got too hot. David's uncle Matt was kind enough to help organize the event. He shared his vast knowledge of local trails with us. He helped us pick out a trail that was 5 miles long in Lost Dutchman state park. The scoutmaster, Greg Phelps and his son Samuel also came along to make the trip more fun.

Here you see Matt from the back and a desert that looks very green to me. We've been blessed to have some rain lately. This also lead to Heavenly Father blessing us with unusually cool weather,
For Arizona. We were in the 70s and 80s during the hike. Lately we've been having lows in the 90s so 70s and 80s felt amazing.

Here is another shot at Heavenly Father's beautiful creation. This may have been David's longest hike to date and he handled it very well. He was clearly tired by the end but he bounced back quickly and was active the rest of the day.

  1. Glad you are getting to know that corner of Heavenly Father's creation. David, did Dad encourage you on the hike by assuring for that "5 miles ain't nothin'". That's how he helped me on a long hike
