6/11/17 Beginning to Serve

Today we went to church as a family. I had the opportunity to give the closing prayer in Sacrament meeting. Papa and I also received home teaching assignments. We both appear to have on the ball companions as we each went home teaching after church. My companion is Larry Black. We teach the Crockett, Rogers and Shirts families. The first two are empty nesters. The Shirts have 4 kids (Jaqlynn, Turley, Rushton and Johnson). Rushton is in Deacon's quorum with David.
After home teaching Heidi and I got our Temple recommends renewed over at the Stake Center. President Jones and President Millet both seemed very interested in our past callings. We'll see if that translates into any callings soon.
After we got back home we received a visit from our new home teachers Brother Postert and Brother Lewis. They both seem very nice and had a fine lesson prepared. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the kid's attention span held. It feels more and more like we are becoming a part of this new ward.

  1. Emerald Acres Ward has impressed us, in our first three weeks, as a vibrant spiritual place, peopled by kind people striving to live the gospel. We feel blessed to have been led here.
