12/5/16 it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

For a couple of years now it has been our family tradition to get a Christmas tree on the family home evening closest to Saint Nicholas day. Today was the appointed day so this evening we went as a family over to Lowe's where they had some beautiful Christmas trees on sale. Sarah spotted this lovely Douglas fir which we brought home.

Here you can see Sarah and Heidi working together to make sure that the tree is properly leveled.

Once the Christmas lights were on the tree Heidi let the kids to put up the decorations, which they did with gusto. Peter especially loved the bell ornaments which he rang and rang as much as we would allow.

Here's a view of the tree with the main lights turned off. Heidi reminded us all that we put lights on the Christmas tree to remind us of the light of the Savior. He lit the way to return to live with our Heavenly Father and our families forever. How grateful we are for His sacrifice and His perfect life.
