8/8/17 Pool and Garage

This morning we extended our exercise streak to 2 days. Our goal is 5 days per week for 30 minutes.

Rebecca Noelani asked to be my assistant swim coach. She was very helpful retrieving errant pool noodles.

After the pool it was time to help Gram find her long lost treasures in the garage. Above is a copy of one of my marching band programs that she had been saving since I was at the University of Hawaii. It's probably 20 years old.

Gram discovered some of her knitting projects. She even gave some yarn to Heidi and the girls. Three an a half hours later the garage was looking tidier and Gram had about 10 boxes near her desk for further inspection. That's not bad when you consider that there were 50 to decide about.

The kids wanted to do something special since it was the last day of Summer. Heidi picked up the movie Storks and let the kids watch it. We also moved out Spam, rice and eggs meal to today. The kids consider this a special treat.
Lastly we attempted to get to bed early. This was easier said than done with many kids excited and nervous about tomorrow. All the kids, including Peter wanted, and received, a Father's Blessing. This seemed to help as kids began to drop into sleep.

  1. It is hard to understand and impossible to overstate the importance to Gramma of her possessions. She really appreciated the hard work of allabodies to help her in the garage. She is looking forward to slowly and carefully ponder the contents of the 16 new boxes that have been lovingly put in her room

  2. Glad your children are willing to take advantage of a Father's Blessing. At the beginning of each school year, the children are offered one. Stephanie will take one every time. The other 3 always refuse. I'm sure it helped your children.
