7/14/17 The National Archive and the Museum of Natural History

This morning we went to the National Archives. This is the home of the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution and the Bill of Rights. No pictures are allowed inside. The room is tall and dimly lit. It has two great murals up high. One represents an artistic interpretation of Jefferson presenting the Declaration of Independence. The other shows George Washington and the signers of the Constitution. The movie National Treasure faithfully shows what the room looks like except that they only let people go through the front doors on special occasions and the movie version is much better lit.

After the Archive we had to eat outdoors. We didn't find a air conditioned spot that allows outside food before our crew ran out of steam for walking.
