7/8/2017 330 Pictures in DC and a 14th Anniversary

Grammie and Grandpa Mangum took us to a great Amish place for breakfast. Our favorite was the cinnabun pancakes. Super ono (to use a Hawaiian word).

Joseph "It's the Death Star". One of the first exhibits in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

The kids took turns holding a piece of a meteorite. Rebecca helped us to take over 330 photos today. That nearly doubled our total for the whole trip. We'll have to do a slideshow later. There is only room for some highlights here.

We watched a video in the navigation exhibit. One of the few times Joseph and Peter sat still (for a moment).

A little tricky finding a place to eat our lunchables that we packed in. We settled on the McDonald's area but we did buy a 10 pack of Chicken nuggets which were gone instantly.

Rebecca, at an interactive display, learning what she would weigh on Jupiter.

Sarah making the Earth float on air.

Most impressive to me was the display of the first plane to fly. Grandpa Mangum pointed out that from first flight to the Moon took an amazingly short 66 years. Heavenly Father's hand for sure. What I didn't know was that a small piece of an original Wright Brother's plane was in the pocket of John Glen when he landed on the Moon. How cool is that?

Lindburgh's waterplane

Heidi rocking Grammie's hat.

Our tour guides (Grammie and Grandpa Mangum) took us to this hidden handicapped spot right next to the Lincoln Memorial. Heidi and Peter are right next to where we parked. Saved us loads of time walking and finding a spot.

The kids in front of the George Washington Monument.

The kids visiting Honest Abe.

Reading the Gettysburg address in the Lincoln Memorial was a spiritual experience.

In the evening Grammie and Grandpa babysat the kiddos so that Heidi and I could go on an anniversary date. What a great way to cap 14 years as a family. I am one lucky guy.
