9/9/17 Cub Scout Day Camp

This morning at 5:30 Heidi and I started loading supplies into the van for Cub Scout Day Camp. We took the iMac and the iPad leaving Rebecca needing to be creative in finding ways to entertain Peter. Babysitting for 9 hours is no small thing. We are blessed that Rebecca is such a big helper. Without her we would have had a much harder time helping out with day camp.
Interacting with the boys was fun. At first I was nervous about fitting all the requirements into the short 35 minute sessions. After a while though it all started to gel. Heidi did well with her part of importing the clips and adding them into iMovie. This really is a two person job. If we were to wait until the end of the classes there wouldn't be enough time to string them together in time for the closing activity. In the end it turned out fine, a few more poop jokes and fight scenes than I preferred but no one was injured in the making of the movies. Perhaps they even learned a little about how to communicate ideas to others.

After Day Camp was over I put on my tech hat. The Mesa Mountain View Stake Conference is next month and today was the first test run. It was like usual, in that usual means that we found a new problem that I'd never seen before. In the end it was a switch flipped the wrong way on one piece of gear that was messing things up. It took a while to find but now it is fixed. We also learned about a few things that need to be fixed or replaced. Now they have time to do those things. That, after all, was the goal of the test.
