6/2/16 Generous Tonsils

This morning we went as a family to the Stake's weekly humanitarian service project. The older kids tied blankets and crocheted hats that will be sent to needy folks. Heidi has a regular assignment cutting and preparing the materials for quilts and other stations. The younger kids played in a nursery staffed by young women from the Stake. I worked in the computer lab on my calling.
After the project Heidi made an appointment for Peter to visit the doctor. He's had a runny nose for a while now and it seems to be part of why he doesn't sleep well. At the visit the doctor said that Peter has "generous tonsils". She recommended we see an ENT specialist. He may need to have them removed.
After the doctor visit Heidi called me to tell me what she'd learned. I was at home with the other kids. They were self entertaining while I got some work done in the office. Heidi stopped at the grocery store to pick up some things. We use a digital shopping list so while we talked Heidi had me check things off the list. It was like we were virtually grocery shopping together. That's the first time I can recall doing that. It was fun and reminded me of one of our first "dates" to the grocery store. Until then I'd never realized that buying food could be such a good time. It was one of the things that helped me fall in love with Heidi. She makes even seemingly mundane tasks fun.
After dinner we went swimming with the kids. David had a "late night" with his friend Lincoln. He came home around 8:30 pm. I'm glad that at 11 years old a "late night" activity gets done before normal bedtime routine.

  1. Could tonsils be part of the secret to meeting Peter's challenges? Nothing says romance like grocery shopping together💖 You guys are a special couple. Proud of your family commitment to service
